 These Are The Best Butter Cookies You'll Ever Try Ah yes, butter cookies. There are so many and they all taste so good. But some...some just taste better than others. These combine two of my favorite butter cookies in the world: commercially produced Danish butter cookies that come in the blue tin, and unique anise seed-studded pastas de té that I savored once upon a time outside a convent in Granada, Spain.
The exterior has just the gentlest crispness to it and the interior has a slightly denser bite: the perfect marriage of textures in a butter cookie. Included as a surprise are little crunchy bits of chopped fennel seeds that get toasted in brown butter, and a subtle hint of vanilla wafts along in the background for that nostalgic taste.
