Batchoy sa Ilawod in Santa Barbara

Craving for batchoy? Time to give this hole-in-the-wall batchoyan in Santa Barbara, Iloilo a visit. 
It maybe a bit far from the usual batchoy stops but doesn't deter foodies from all over Iloilo.


But real foodies know no boundaries when looking for something new and especially when it has become an online viral sensation
Located along Libertad Street, just ask any tricycle driver - they'll take you there.


Or you may ask the locals for the "Batchoyan sa Ilawod" as it is popularly called.
Just follow the signs along the road. Trust your sense of smell when you walk along the alley going to the eatery.
A typical batchoyan ambiance greets you when you enter.


You can hear the clicks of scissors, the clanking of bowls and aroma ( and the heat) steaming from the kitchen.
Order you batchoy as soon as you get there since the queue is quite long and they have calde-caldero of take out orders too!
Savor and enjoy eating your batchoy - pork, liver, fried intestines, meke and bottomless caldo. 


Add some pan de leche and drinks too! Don't worry, its just PhP50 per bowl.
If you prefer it To-Go, just a few pesos but you need to bring your own container for the caldo.



Be there early (morning is the best time) as it stops serving batchoy  early of mid-afternoon around 3pm or when their supply lasts.
